Marilyn Ann Benson, 81, of New Haven, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at her home.

Marilyn was born in St. Louis, Missouri on December 18, 1934, a daughter of the late Otto Henry & Lydia Anne (Koseck) Hoefelmann.

She was the widow of Cornelius A Benson.   They were united in marriage on March 5, 1966, at St. Louis, Missouri.  Cornelius preceded her in death on September 26, 1992.

Marilyn was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, Wright City, Missouri.  Marilyn loved her many beloved pets and taking care of them.  She also enjoyed feeding the birds.

Marilyn was the Vice President of Board Services for Blue Cross and Blue Shield.  She was with Missouri Medical Service  for 42 years, and was named vice president/Administration in 1985.  She served as secretary to the Board of Trustees, and was responsible for communication and relations with the Board and the Corporate Assembly, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Missouri's governing bodies. 

Marilyn is survived by many cousins and friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Graveside services will be held at Jonesburg City Cemetery, Jonesburg, Missouri, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 20, 2016,  with Rev. Tom Higgins officiating.
