So sorry for your loss. Howard was a wonderful guy. I got the chance to take care of him at New Haven Care Center. He was always so sweet and always goofing around with me. When I would go in his room to check up on him he'd always give me troubles for a laugh. I remember one night I went to turn him and he wouldn't budge. He giggled and then gave an evil grin to me. I asked him if he was going to help me out and he said "nope" I said "Oh come on Howard help a girl out" that's when he took his hand and put it in a fist and then proceeded to ever so gently tap my jaw/cheek. Ever since then everytime I went in his room he'd do that to me and I'd do it back and he'd always give me this big smile. Every night before I put him to bed he'd give me a hug and kiss on the cheek and then right before I left in the morning he'd give me a hug and kiss the top of my hand and tell me bye. I remember the time I came into work and went to go see him and found out he was in the hospital. I about cried. Luckily he was okay and came back and when he was back the first thing I did was go up to him and talk to him and he goes "Do I know you" he forgot me and it broke my heart but I knew it wasn't his fault. Later that night after I put him to bed I went in there to make sure he was okay and I said something like "Man I wish you'd remember me" kinda talking to myself and he goes "I know I'm really sorry" I reach over him to give him a drink and he seen one of my tattoos that he always made a comment about how he liked it but would never get one and within seconds of seeing it he goes "I remember you now" it made me so happy. He was such a great guy. I feel honored to have helped him out and take care of him. He always knew how to make my day better. He will forever be in my heart. I Love You Howard. Fly High Buddy. It was a pleasure of meeting you and getting to goof off with you. Sorry I never got to say goodbye and that I never got a chance to come and see you again.

I used to work at New Haven Care Center and take care Howard. He will be missed. I remember when I first started working in the kitchen. He would be sitting there waiting to leave the dining room. I would go over and make sure he was done and take him to his room. He would always give me a wink. I felt that was him showing his appreciation. He would be playing bingo and I would help him pick up his chips. He would lose a slipper I would pick it up. I then started training to be a can. So I was able to get to know him a little better. He was always so pleasant. My heart was broken when I was unable to work there any longer. I haven't seen him sine February. Thankfully my daughter had the pleasure to work with Howard as well. Please know he holds a special place in our hearts. RIP Howard fly high big guy!!! Till we all meet again
