Orville "Porky" C. Borgmeyer, 82, of Hermann, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Hermann Area District Hospital.
Porky was born in St. Charles, Missouri on July 4, 1935, a son of the late Clarence "Cotton" & Anna (Roeper) Borgmeyer.
He was the husband of Mary (Conoyer) Borgmeyer. They were united in marriage on July 5, 1958, at All Saints Church, St. Peters, MO. Mary survives at the home.
Porky is also survived by their five children, Phil Borgmeyer & partner Terry Rich, of Santa Rosa, California; Barry Borgmeyer, of Foristell, Missouri; LeAnn Snow & husband Jack, of Foristell, Missouri; Steve Borgmeyer, of St. Paul, Missouri, and JoAnn Kirchhofer & husband Terry, of Hermann, by two sisters, Dee Hirtz & husband Gene, of St. Peters, Missouri; and Jane Welsh, of Wentzville, Missouri, by a brother Roy Borgmeyer & wife Carol, of O'Fallon, Missouri; by eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Porky proudly served in the US Army. He worked as a union carpenter and did trim work in residential construction. He was a member of the Local 1987 of St. Charles. He was also a member of St. George Church, of Hermann, the Hermann Eagles, and American Legion Post 313, of St. Peters, Mo. He was a 25 year member of the East Missouri League Baseball Association and he was inducted in the Amateur Hall of Fame in St. Charles County.
A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, September 16th from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at St. George Church, Hermann, where a memorial mass will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Msgr. Gregory Higley officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Hermann Hospital or St. George Church.
