Deborah Marie Stock, 40, of High Hill, MO, passed away Friday, July 28, 2017 after a long illness, at University of Missouri Medical Center, Columbia, Missouri, with her brother David being with her.

Deborah was born at the University of Missouri Medical Center, Columbia, Missouri on November 30, 1976, the  daughter of Joyce (Shelton) Stock, of High Hill  and the late Clifford Stock.

She was a member of the Price's Branch Christian Church and was the 5th generation of her family to attend there. While growing up and as a young adult Deborah attended the High Hill Christian Church.  Deborah spent most of her life studying and was a very gifted student. She attended the Jonesburg Elementary School and graduated second highest in her class from Montgomery County RII High School in 1995.  She was one of three in her class who received the Bright Flight Scholarship.  She excelled on the track team when she broke the school record in the 800 meter race on the cross country team in middle school.  She also played basketball and volleyball.  She loved sports.  She also enjoyed playing the trumpet in the school band.

After high school Deborah attended Lindenwood University while also taking classes at St. Louis Christian College.  She went one semester at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville and had credit hours from St. Charles Community College.  After completing her pre engineering  schooling, Deborah transferred to the University of Missouri, in Columbia, in order to complete her degree in mechanical engineering.  She lacked only twenty-six hours from graduating when her health started declining.  In 2006 Deborah graduated from St. Louis Christian College with a bachelors degree in Ministry, second in her class.

Deborah enjoyed music and played her trumpet as part of the praise team at Harvester Christian Church while living in the St. Louis area.  She played with the Harvester praise team at the Missouri Christian Convention twice when Harvester was in charge of the music.  She was also in the band at Lindenwood University and played solos in their band concerts.  She could play many different instruments.

Deborah loved Jesus and had talked about being a missionary in the Philippines helping her friend Rachel who is from there and whom she met at St. Louis Christian College.  More recently she mentioned working with Nate Saint, who's father was one of the five missionaries killed by the Incas in Ecuador in 1956, thinking that her knowledge of mechanical engineering might be of help to him.

Being interested in missions, Deborah made two short term missionary trips to Old Mexico, the first in 1995 when she worked at Ninos, a group of children's homes located one hour west of Mexico City.  Her second short term missionary trip in Old Mexico was just south of the border from Texas.  She went with a group from Christian Campus House at the University of Missouri in Columbia.

Deborah loved the outdoors and she loved animals.  She enjoyed traveling in Montgomery County, often stopping at creeks listening to the birds sing and enjoying the beauty of God's creation.  Her goal was to travel every road in Montgomery County.  She was good at spotting eagles.

Deborah is survived by her mother Joyce of the home and a brother David Stock and wife Cheryl, a nephew Chris & a niece Holly,  all from Holts Summit, Mo.

Graveside Services were held at Price's Branch Christian Cemetery, High Hill, Mo, on Tuesday, August 1st,  with Pastor Tyler King officiating.
