Marie Cecelia Lauer, nee Eldringhoff, of Americus, Missouri, died Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Hermann Area District Hospital at the age of 95.

Mrs. Lauer was born near Americus, Missouri on February 1, 1920.  She was the daughter of the late Frederick and Alida (Bucker) Eldringhoff. Marie was baptized, confirmed and married at St. Martin's Church at Starkenburg.

She married Lawrence Lauer on November 27, 1945.  They lived on a century farm near Americus.  She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence on October 16, 1979 and an infant daughter, Teresa Marie.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a devout Catholic.

Marie attended school at Americus and St. Martin's School at Starkenburg, Missouri and later received her high school GED.  For over fifty years she was a member of the Church of the Risen Savior, St. Ann's Sodality, choir and active in Home and School.  She was a charter member of St. Martin's Church Restoration Organization in 1982.  She was a 4-H leader for ten years.

Marie worked in St. Louis for three years as a housekeeper and three years during WWII in defense work at McQuay Norris and McDonnell Aircraft.  She worked on the B-29 bomber planes and C 54 transport planes.  After her marriage, she and Lawrence lived on the family Century Farm where she led a busy farm life.  She later worked at Hermann Area District Hospital for 25 years.

Surviving are two daughters; Virginia White and her husband Clayton and Phyllis Schaefer and her husband Ronald, by six grandchildren; James White, John White & special friend Jenn Weller Santure and her children, Brian White, Elizabeth Schmidt and her husband Bill, Tom David & special friend Amanda Dildine and her children, Tim David and fiance' Rebecca Bristow and her children and four great grandchildren, Travis White, Kelsey and Makayla Schmidt and Thomas Anthony David, by three sisters Theoda Pohlman, Alma Heying and Lillian Gloe.

Visitation will be Wednesday 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, Missouri. 

A funeral mass will be held at St. Martin's Church, Starkenburg, Missouri at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 30th, with Father David Means officiating. 

Burial will be at St. Martin's Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to St. Martin's Restoration, Our Lady of Sorrows Shrine or Masses.  C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
