Mrs. Margaret  L.  Gabathuler, 87, of Hermann, Missouri, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Mercy Hospital, Washington.

Mrs. Gabathuler was born in Berger, Missouri on July 16, 1928 the daughter of the late Benjamin and Susie (nee Patton) Hug.

She was a homemaker and a farmer’s wife. She operated the switchboard at Ehlensburg for many years. She was a member of Bethany United Church of Christ and the Bethany Women’s Fellowship, Berger, Missouri. She was a 4-H leader for over 35  years. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and visiting other people. She often took care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was the wife of Edward O. Gabathuler. They were married August 30, 1947 at Hermann, Missouri, he preceded her in death on February 11, 2012.

She is survived by three children, Linda S. Kolley and husband Tim of St. Louis, Nadine Rentz and husband Henry of Hermann and John Gabathuler and wife Nancy of Hermann. She is also survived by grandchildren Lori Pyatt, Edward Pyatt and wife Lara, Megan Kolley, Gavin Kolley and wife Sandy, Erin Kottwitz and husband Kurt, and Kirstie Moorman and fiance’ Matt Davis. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Layla, Gavin Jr., Kennedy, Reagan, Brody, Holden, Weston, Emma, Korbyn and Eben. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sister Pearl Cappel, brother Ralph Hug and a granddaughter  Whitney Gabathuler.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, June 23rd at Bethany United Church of Christ, Berger, Missouri at 10:00 a.m.  with Rev. Eugenia Althen officiating.

Visitation will be Wednesday June 22, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.  at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, Missouri.

Interment will be at Bethany Cemetery, Berger, Missouri.
