Eleanor J. Byrne, 90, of Hermann, MO, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Frene Valley of Hermann Stonebridge.
Eleanor was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 13, 1925, a daughter of the late Russell & Leola (Millikan) Osburn. She attended Palmer High School and she worked at Walgreens Soda Fountain to help pay her way through high school.
She was the widow of Edward John Byrne. They were married on October 27, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois.
Eleanor worked as a file clerk for Coe Laboratories, in Alsip, Illinois. During WWII she also worked as a telephone operator in San Francisco. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution.
In her free time Eleanor enjoyed traveling, doing cross word puzzles and reading, especially about historic events.
Eleanor is survived by two sons, Martin Byrne, of Tucson, Arizona; and Edward Byrne, of Portland, Oregon; a daughter, Jeannie Byrne, of Arlington, Virginia; a cousin, Virginia Cummings & husband Bob, of Big Spring, Missouri, by three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and by a brother William Osburn.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 16th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, where funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m.
Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, High Hill, Missouri.
Memorials may be given to Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
