William "Bill" Charles Fischer

William "Bill" Charles Fischer, 81, of Hermann, MO, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Mercy Hospital South, St. Louis, Missouri. 

Bill was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on December 22, 1941, the son of the late Anthony & Ethel (Matthew) Fischer.

He was the husband of Henrietta (Asen) Fischer. They were united in marriage on February 5, 1966, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. 

Bill proudly served his country in the United States Army for three years.  He was a member of St. George Church, Hermann and the 4th Degree Knights.

He worked as an engineering associate for Western Electric, which later branched out to AT&T.  He also worked for Lucent Technologies until his retirement.  In his free time he enjoyed gardening, bicycling, playing horseshoes and golf.

Bill is survived by his wife, Henrietta Fischer, of Hermann, Missouri; a son, Charles Fischer & wife Teresa, of St. Charles, Missouri; a daughter, Deborah Head & husband Kelly, of Linn, Missouri; a son, Thomas William Fischer, of Hermann, Missouri; a daughter, Sharon Fischer, of Morrison, Missouri; and a daughter, Susan Szydlowski, of St. Charles, Missouri; a brother, John Fischer, of Florida; two sisters, Mary Bielfield & husband Jim, of Baltimore, Maryland; and Margaret Delonay, of Richmond, Virginia; by 12 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild.  He is preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Richard & Thomas Fischer.

Visitation will be held Sunday, July 9th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann.

A funeral mass will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. George Church, Hermann.  Burial will be at St. George Cemetery. 

Memorials may be given to White House Retreat or Dementia Foundation.
