Virginia "Ginny” M. Crawford, 99, of Hermann, MO, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2022 at Hermann Area District Hospital.
Virginia was born in Hermann, Missouri on September 10, 1923, the daughter of the late George S. & Veronica (Franken) Kramer.
She was united in marriage to Bernie Milton Crawford on June 8, 1946, in Webster Groves, Missouri. Bernie, WWII veteran and former Hermann Postmaster preceded her in death on March 20, 2005.
Virginia was a life-long member of St. George Catholic Church, Hermann, MO. She stayed very busy raising their nine children, and she also worked as lead of the secretarial pool and among her many duties produced the Monthly Postal Newsletter for the United States Postal Service in St. Louis, MO until her retirement in 1987.
Virginia, a loving mother, is survived and missed by a daughter, Dorothy "Dottie" M. Crumble, of Jefferson City, Missouri; a son, Glenn A. Crawford & wife Patricia, of Washington, Missouri; a daughter, Brenda M. Forsee & husband Bob, of Columbia, Missouri; a daughter, Alice M. Bauer, of Hermann, Missouri; a daughter, Elizabeth “Betty” M. Crawford, of McKittrick, Missouri; a daughter, Joyce M. Halterman & husband Jeffery, of St. Clair, Missouri; a daughter, Tina M. McClurg, of Hermann, Missouri; and a daughter, Lynn M. Cali & husband Mark, of South Dakota; Virginia is beloved by 16 grandchildren (one deceased grandson), 20 great-grandchildren, and a cousin, Father George Kramer of Jefferson City, Missouri.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Barbara Minx and by two sisters, Mildred Welly and Hildegard Kramer and by three brothers, Father Herbert Kramer, Bro. Norbert Kramer, Maurice Kramer and a twin sister Valeria Kramer who died in infancy.
Visitation will be held Monday October 3, 2022 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann.
A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday October 4, 2022 at 11 a.m. at St. George Church, Hermann, Missouri, with Father Philip Niekamp officiating.
Burial will be at St. George Cemetery. Memorials may be given to St. George Church.
