Thomas Joe "B.A." Schmidt, 71, of Vandalia, MO, passed away Monday, March 3, 2025 at his home.
Tom was born in Hermann, Missouri on July 22, 1953, the son of the late John Albert & Evelyn (Wilson) Schmidt.
Tom proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked for the Missouri Department of Corrections in Vandalia as a supervisor. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, playing baseball, softball and soccer, throwing washers, bowling and spending time with family and friends.
Tom is survived by two daughters, Genille Schmidt & significant other Dane Gearhart, of Hermann, Missouri; and Kayla Schmidt & significant other Steve Butler, of Vandalia, Missouri; three sisters, Connie Smith, of Jefferson City, Missouri; Linda Napier, of Hermann, Missouri; and Sandy Beckwith, of Orlando, Florida; six grandchildren, Kaitlin Wells & fiance Ryan Teague, Devon Gearhart, Mina, Elyza & Auria Williams and Isla Butler, three great grandchildren, Oaklynn & Oliver Flowers and Tucker Teague, aunts, uncles nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his step mother, Emma Schmidt, a daughter, Maggie Schmidt and a brother, Ronald Schmidt
Visitation will be held Friday, March 14th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, where memorial services will follow at 12:00 p.m.
Interment will be at Big Spring Cemetery, Big Spring, Missouri. Memorials may be given to Big Spring Cemetery.
