Thomas Dildine Obituary

Thomas Leo Dildine, 88, of Rhineland, MO, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at his home. 

Thomas was born in St. Louis, Missouri on May 4, 1932, a son of the late Cecil & Thelma (Thompson) Dildine.

Thomas proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.  He was a member of St. George Church, Hermann, the V.F.W. Post 4182 in Hermann, the Hermann Rod & Gun Club and he was a Missouri Department of Conservation Hunter Education Instructor for many years.

Thomas worked as a policer officer for the City of Hermann and City of Gasconade, and was a deputy for  the Gasconade County and Montgomery County Sheriffs Departments.  He also worked as a security officer for the Missouri State Penitentiary in Jefferson City.  He received a Purple Heart from the Hermann Police Department.

In his free time he liked to hunt, especially rabbits, squirrels and deer.  He also enjoyed traveling.

Thomas is survived by a son, Cecil Dildine & wife Marcia, of Wildwood, Missouri; a daughter, Mary Anne Deason, of Coulterville, Illinois; a son, Joseph Franklin Dildine & wife Treva, of Westfield, Indiana; a daughter, Dee Dee Dawn Stevens & husband Ron, of Westfield, Indiana; a son, Thomas Leo Dildine & wife Mary, of Lapel, Indiana; a son, Franklin Leroy Dildine & wife Janice, of Rhineland, Missouri; a daughter, Amanda David & husband Tom, of Rhineland, Missouri; a sister, Nina Adams & husband Dwayne, of St. Clair, Missouri, 22 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren.
 
He is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Al, Art, Mike, Richard, and Tracy, and three sisters, Pat, Sharon, and Barbara.

Visitation will be held Sunday, May 31st from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, Missouri. 

A funeral mass will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. George Church, Hermann, with Rev. Msgr. Gregory Higley officiating. 

Burial will be at St. Martin's Cemetery, Starkenburg, Missouri.  Memorials may be given to V.F.W. Post 4182 or St. George School.   C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
