Terence "Terry" Kemper Obituary

Terence "Terry" F. Kemper, 91, of Hermann, MO, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at Frene Valley of Hermann Stonebridge.

Terry was born in Morrison, Missouri on September 15, 1928, the son of the late Otto H. & Mary M. (Rost) Kemper.

He was united in marriage to Geneva P. Blackwell at Assumption Catholic Church, Morrison, Missouri.

For more than 60 years Terry was a resident of Hermann and an active member of St. George Catholic Church, where he formally served as a trustee.  He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Terry served his country in the United States Army, in the 1902 Engineer Battalion, during the Korean War.  Throughout his working years he was employed by the U.S. Corp. of Engineers, and the Rite Point Company at Hermann and Waukesha, WI.  Terry retired after 33 years as an inspector from McDonnell Douglas Aircraft, now Boeing.  He worked on many projects, especially the first space capsule Mercury.

Terry is survived by his wife Geneva Kemper, of Hermann; by three children, Lana Dinehart, of Pacific, Missouri; Lynn Armstrong & husband Richard, of Florissant, Missouri; and Todd Kemper & wife Nancy, of Pacific, Missouri; by seven grandchildren, Sara Shields & husband Tad, of St. Peters, Missouri; Andrew Armstrong & wife Kristy, of Alma, Wisconsin; David Armstrong, of Florissant, Missouri; Jenifer Kemper, Lorie Kemper, Jason Kemper, and Teri Kemper, all of Pacific, Missouri; and by three great grandchildren, Kemper Armstrong, and Ian and Alexis Shields.

He is preceded in death by his parents, by three brothers, Lester, Norbert, and Amsbert "Gismo" Kemper, and by six sisters, Evelyn Forderhase, Elethia Berend, Delphine Uthe, Lioba Monroe, Aurea Lackman, and Donata Struttman.

A private graveside service was held at St. George Cemetery, Hermann.  A memorial visitation and mass will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be given to St. George Church or Hermann Area Crusade Against Cancer .  C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
