Sidney Hugo Eldringhoff, 97, of Rhineland, MO, passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Hermann Area District Hospital, Hermann, Missouri.
Sidney was born in Rhineland, Missouri on July 7, 1924, the son of the late Alfred & Johanna (Bremer) Eldringhoff.
He was united in marriage to Nadine Emma Ocheskey on February 3, 1945, at St. George Church, Hermann, Mo. They were married for 57 years until Nadine passed away on April 30, 2002.
Sidney joined the US Army in May of 1946. He served during WWII earning rank as Corporal. He was honorably discharged in November of 1947.
Sidney worked for International Shoe Factory in Hermann and was a farmer. He was a member of Church of the Risen Savior, Rhineland, Missouri, F.O.E. 1328 Hermann, American Legion Post 147 and he served on many boards including, MFA Coop #130 Board of Directors, Montgomery County Extension Council, Montgomery County Farm Bureau Board, Service and Supply Coop Board and he had 29 years of service with the USDA, from Community Committee Man to Chairman of Montgomery County FSA.
Sidney is survived by a son, Robert Eldringhoff & wife Diana, of Hermann, Missouri; three daughters, Phyllis Stock & husband David, of Ashland, Missouri; Patricia Heldt & husband Gary, of Hermann, Missouri; and Linda Glascock & husband Kevin, of Jefferson City, Missouri; a brother, Sylvan Eldringhoff, of Tucson, Arizona; a special friend, Georgia Brueggenjohann, of Hermann, Missouri; by eight grandchildren, Jeff, Jenny, Dayna, Angela, Matt, Chris, Kori and Kelsey and 18 great grandchildren, Evan, Cooper, Colin, Carson, Makaley, Makinna, Cameron, Garrett, Rachel, Brigita,Taylor, Allyson, Lane, Woodrow, Holly, Mason, Sidney and Bailey.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Nadine, an infant son, a grandson, LCpl Erik R. Heldt, three sisters, Genevieve Elmo, Dorothy Curley and Venita Faerber and a brother, Denis Eldringhoff.
A memorial visitation will be held Friday, November 12th from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann. A memorial mass will follow at 2:00 pm at Church of the Risen Savior, Rhineland, with Father Philip Niekamp officiating.
