Rosemary "Rosie" Kattelmann Obituary

Rosemary “Rosie” Ann Kattelmann, 86, of Hermann, MO passed away January 23, 2026 at Mercy Hospital, Washington, MO.

Rosemary was born in Rhineland, MO on June 14, 1939, daughter of Aloys and Virgie Winkelmann nee Van Booven.

On June 29, 1957, at Assumption Church, Morrison, MO she was united in marriage to the late Robert G. Kattelmann.

Rosemary is survived by her son, Dennis Kattelmann & friend Paula Locher of Hermann, Mo; by her daughter, Donna Winkelmann and husband, Ward, of St. Charles, MO; by one brother, Louis Winkelmann and wife, Evelyn, of Hermann, MO; by three sisters, Ida Brandt and husband, Otto, of Hermann, MO, Pauline Oberg of Gray Summit, MO and Beverly Haeffner of Gasconade, MO; by her grandchildren, Meghan Woodlief and Husband, Matt, of St. Charles, MO; Dane Winkelmann, of St. Louis, MO; Wesley Winkelmann and wife, Gini, of Denver, CO; and Adam Motley, of Hermann, Missouri; by two great-grandsons Augustin and Malcolm Woodlief, by one sister-in-law Mae Magyar and husband George, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kattelmann, by her parents, Aloys and Virgie Winkelmann; by one brother, Alfred Winkelmann; and by three sisters, Margaret Witthaus, Vera Buscher, and Rosella Bell.

Rosemary was a member of St. George Catholic Church in Hermann, MO, the St. Anne’s Ladies Sodality, Widow’s Mite, the Pro-Life Rosary group, and she volunteered at Victorian Manor playing cards.

Rosie was a waitress for most of her working career and later owner of Market Street 1954 Restaurant. Following waitressing she worked in the home health field and cleaned St. Paul’s Church. When she was not working, she was busy gardening, canning, cooking, especially baking, tending to house plants, playing cards or Bingo, and cleaning (lots of cleaning).

Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she cherished the time they spent together. Her smile lit up the room when she saw them. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will forever be held dear in their hearts.

Rosie will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
