Rosella May (Starke) Schluss

Rosella May (Starke) Schluss, 85, of Hermann, MO, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2020 at her home.

Rosella was born in Chamois, Missouri on May 3, 1935, the daughter of the late Bernard M. & Odelia (Frechmann) Starke.

She was the widow of Frank R. Schluss.  They were united in marriage on November 3, 1956, at St. Joseph's Church, Little Berger, Missouri. Frank preceded her in death on December 20, 2007.

Rosella was a member of Church of the Risen Savior, Rhineland, Missouri, St. Ann's Ladies Sodality, V.F.W. Auxiliary and she was a past president of the Rhineland Royals 4-H Club.

Rosella was a homemaker and she also worked for Florsheim & Beacon Shoe Factories and Langenburg Hat Factory in Berger.   She enjoyed sewing and quilting.  She quilted a quilt for all of her grandchildren.

Rosella is survived by three daughters, Bernadette Dildine, of McKittrick, Missouri; Mary Owens, of Hermann, Missouri; and Frances Schluss & fiance' Fred Berryman, of Hermann, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Carol Starke, of Hermann, Missouri; six grandchildren, Frank Dildine, Amanda David, Barry Owens, Ethan Owens, Roseanna Dunlap, and Robin Scarlet and by 10 great grandchildren. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, by a daughter Alice who died in infancy, by her brothers, Burnett, Henry, Milton, Edward, Harvey, Ludwig, and Quentin Starke and her sisters, Sr. M. Odilia Starke, Ann Weaver, Lillian Degenhart, Margaret Glatz, Estelle Elsenraat and Viola Oberg-Hollandworth.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 24th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Martin's Church, Starkenburg, Missouri.

Burial will be at St. Martin's Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Our Lady of Sorrows Shrine, Starkenburg. C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
