Roger A. Prior

Roger A. Prior, 82, of Hermann, Missouri passed away on January 8th, 2022 at Hermann Hospital.

Mr. Prior was born in New Florence, Missouri on July 19, 1939, the son of the late Price and Eleanor (Dayball) Prior.  He was the husband of Ruth A. (Weiser) Prior.  They were married January 29, 1960 at United Methodist Church in Columbia.  She survives in Hermann.

Roger is also survived by his daughter Sheila and husband Craig Galler of Nathrop, Colorado; his son Duane and wife Paula of Villa Rica, Georgia;  by a sister Donna Leu, Wright City;  brother Larry Prior and wife Beverly, New Florence; and a sister-in-law- Mary Ann Prior, New Florence; by grandchildren Justin Prior, Bria Seiger, and Molly Prior,  five (5) great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many friends

 He was preceded in death by his parents, and by two brothers David and Laurence Prior.

He was a member of the Hermann Methodist Church where he served on the Board and sang in the choir.  He worked at The Advertiser Courier in Hermann for 22 years, after which he served as Gasconade County Clerk for 20 years, until his retirement in 2002   He enjoyed playing and singing music, golfing, cutting wood, playing cards, travelling, and spending time with friends and family.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, January  12th, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.  at the Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann.  Funeral services will be held Thursday January 13, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hermann United Methodist Church in Hermann.

A private burial service will take place at a later date.

Memorials may be given to the Hermann United Methodist Church memorial fund or the Loutre Island Cemetery (Brick Church) C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
