Richard Sitton Obituary

Richard Carl Sitton, 75, of Troy, MO, passed away Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Harry S. Truman VA Hospital, Columbia, Missouri. 

Richard was born in St. Louis, Missouri on September 16, 1945, the son of the late Robert Carl & Norma Marie (Nolting) Sitton.

He was the husband of Edna Jean (Mergenthal) Sitton.  They were united in marriage on September 19, 1998 in Wentzville, Missouri. 

Richard proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  He was a member of Troy First Baptist Church, Troy, Missouri and V.F.W. Post 8828 in Troy.

Richard first worked for Cooper Sales in St. Louis.  He then started his own business, Sitton Siding and ran that until his retirement.  In his free time he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

Richard is survived by his wife, Edna "Jeanie" Sitton, of the home; a son, Shayne Sitton & wife Rachel, of Wentzville, Missouri; two step sons, Dan Heppermann & wife Kim, of Wentzville, Missouri and Dwayne Heppermann, of Troy, Missouri; by seven grandsons, Tyler, Cody (Tonya), Zaine, and Kade Sitton and Luke, Noah and Ethan Heppermann, a granddaughter, Anna Heppermann,  a great grandson, Finley Sitton, a great granddaughter, Katelyn Grace Sitton, a brother, Robert Sitton, of Hermann, Missouri; and a sister-in-law, Mary Sue Sitton, of Wright City, Missouri.
 
He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Lisa Fisher and two brothers, Wayne and Eugene Sitton.

A private graveside service at Loutre Island Cemetery, McKittrick, will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be given to V.F.W. Post 8828, Troy, MO.  C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
