Renate Ellis

Renate Ellis, 81, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Friday, October 6, 2023 at Mount Carmel Senior Living, St. Charles, Missouri. 

Renate was born in Wesermuende, Germany on May 14, 1942, the daughter of the late Jewett P. & Vera (Schnegelsberg) Ellis.

Renate worked for 34 years as an administrative assistant for the St. Louis County Police Department.  She enjoyed gardening, traveling and she loved animals.

Renate is survived by two sisters, Karin Ellis, of Wright City, Missouri; and Margaret Stiegman & husband Mark, of Big Spring, Missouri; by nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Jewett Ellis and a sister Ulla Kramer.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 11th from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, where funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m.

Burial will be at Liberty Cemetery, Big Spring, Missouri.  Memorials may be given to Five Acres Animal Shelter.
