Raymond "Raymie" W. Ochsner

Raymond "Raymie" W. Ochsner, 94, of Hermann, MO, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Hermann Area District Hospital.

Raymond was born in Hermann, Missouri on January 4, 1926, a son of the late Richard W. & Lillian (Oncken) Ochsner.

He was the husband of Mildred Mary (Starke) Ochsner.  They were united in marriage on June 10, 1948, at Assumption Church, Morrison, Missouri. 

Raymond proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he was awarded a Bronze Star.  He was a member of St. George Church, Hermann and the V.F.W. Post 4182, Hermann.  Raymond was a great baseball player, when he returned home from the war in the 40's he played for the Hermann Cardinals as the catcher.

Raymond was the owner & operator of Raymie's Service Station in Hermann for 45 years.   He served the City of Hermann as an alderman for four years in the 1970's, and was the Northern District Commissioner for six years in the early 1990's.  

Raymond is survived by his wife Mildred, of the home; by a son, Ronald W. Ochsner D.D.S. & wife Donna, of Columbia, Missouri; by two daughters, Linda Ochsner & partner Matt Pirello, of Ellisville, Missouri; and Debra Burmester, of Maryland Heights, Missouri; by a sister, Marion Brueggan, of Florissant, Missouri. a brother, Norman Ochsner & wife Carol, of O'Fallon, Missouri; by five grandchildren, Ryan, David, and Daniel Ochsner, and Lindsay and Lauren Burmester, and two great grandchildren, Rami & Laila Ochsner.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 6th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann.

Funeral mass will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. George Church, with Rev. Msgr. Gregory Higley officiating. 

Burial will be St. George Cemetery.  Memorials may be given to Hermann V.F.W.  C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
