Raymond McDonald Obituary

Raymond  L.  McDonald, 86, of New Haven, MO, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at New Haven Care Center. 

Raymond  was born in New Haven, Missouri on May 3, 1932, a son of the late John & Viola  (Smith) McDonald.

He was the husband of Mary L. (Hallemann) McDonald. They were married on May 24, 1952 at Assumption Church, New Haven, Mo. 

Ray proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.  He was a member of Assumption Church, New Haven Lions Club, New Haven American Legion, New Haven Senior Center Board, and he served on the Board of Directors for Citizens Bank and Citizens Financial Group Inc.

He was the Postmaster at the New Haven Post office for over 30 years, and he previously worked at McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis.  Ray loved farming, hunting, fishing and trapping. He enjoyed being   outdoors and enjoying mother nature.

Raymond is survived by his wife Mary, by two daughters, Margaret Trachsel and Cynthia Kase both of New Haven, by a brother Ronald "Stub" McDonald, of New Haven, by two granddaughters, Kimberly Kase, of Manhattan, NY and Barbara Gilliam and husband Doug, of Columbia, by three great-grandchildren Rosiland and Michael Gilliam and Logan Kase, by three brothers-in-law, Anthony Hallemann and wife Joleen, of St. Louis, Fred Hallemann, of Powell, Ohio and Raymond Hallemann, of New Haven, by four sisters-in-law, Margaret James, of Washington and Virginia Holzem and husband Steve, of  Washington, Carrol Klingsick and husband Chuck, of Warsaw and Helene Hallemann, of Palm Harbor, FL.

He is preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother Thomas,  by a brother Kenneth "Blitz" McDonald and his wife Violet,  by four sisters-in-law, Corine McDonald, RoseRita Hallemann, Kay Hallemann and Jerri Hallemann, by two brothers-in-law, Leo Hallemann and Lonnie James, and a son-in-law Michael Trachsel.
 
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 2nd from 9:00 to 11:45 a.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven,  a memorial mass will follow Sat. at 12:00 p.m. at Assumption Church, New Haven, with Father John Deken officiating.
 
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Assumption Cemetery.  C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home
