Rayma Jean (Kane) Steimel

Rayma Jean Steimel, 93, of Washington, MO, formerly of Hermann, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Cedarcrest Manor, Washington, Missouri. 

Rayma was born in Harrisburg, Illinois on March 1, 1925, a daughter of the late Nathaniel Ray & Myrtle Jane (Yarbrough)  Kane.

She was the widow of Roy Fredrick Steimel.   They were united in marriage on July 1, 1946, at St. Louis, Missouri. Roy preceded her in death on January 26, 2015.

Rayma was a member of the Friendly Assembly of God Church, Gerald, Missouri and a former member of New Life Church in Hermann. She was very involved in the church.  She was also the past president of the Hermann V.F.W. Auxiliary.

Rayma & her husband owned and operated Steimel Heating and AC in Washington for over 20 years.  They then moved to Hermann and owned and operated Steimel Real Estate Agency until retirement.  After retirement they opened Hermann Country Custard Shop. 

Rayma is survived by two sons, Larry Steimel & wife Ann, of St. Louis, Missouri and Lynn Steimel & wife Judy, of Valparaiso, Indiana, and by four grandchildren, Michael, Jonathan, Christopher, and Lori Steimel. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, by two brothers, Clyde & Wally Kane, and by four sisters, Amy Gottschalk, Winnie Matthews, Thelma Winters DeRosa, and Mary Barnes.

Visitation will be held Sunday, April 22nd from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, where funeral services will follow at 5:00 p.m.

Burial will be Monday at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.  Memorial donations may be given to American Heart Association.  C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
