Ralph E. Badger, 88, of Hermann, Mo. passed away on July 1, 2023 at Mercy Hospital Washington, Mo.
Ralph was born in Centerville, Iowa on November 5, 1934, the son of the late Merl & Esther Badger.
He was united in marriage to JoAnn (nee Hampel) Grossenbacher on April 2, 1991 in Minnesota.
Ralph proudly served his country in the United States Army for 24 years, was a Vietnam veteran, and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. After his active duty career, he embarked on a second career within the defense industry as a mechanical engineer.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Alice (Grossenbacher) Badger.
He is survived by his wife JoAnn, a daughter Kathy Torres and husband Buddy of Austin, Texas and a son Phillip Badger of Oregon City, Oregon, a stepson Mark Grossenbacher and wife Kay of Wentzville, MO, a stepdaughter Wendy Plumb and husband Ron of Hermann. A brother Ronald Badger and wife Betty of Jackson, MO. Grandchildren from his first marriage include Amy Torres, Tonie Torres, and Emory Badger and step grandchildren Robert Torres and Maya Bouchet. Grandchildren from his second marriage include Leslie Brown and husband Scott, Scott Grossenbacher and wife Regina, Katie Forster and husband James, Noah Plumb and wife Micaela, Amanda Rost and husband Thomas, Josiah Plumb, Michaela Plumb, and Eliana Plumb. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday July 5, 2023 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home in Hermann, where services will be held at 11:00 on Wednesday.
Burial will be held at the Oak Haven Memorial Gardens in Hermann, with full military honors.
Memorials are requested to the Alzheimers Association or the American Cancer Society.
