Opal Lousine Dothage, 91, of Hermann, MO, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Gasconade Manor Nursing Home, Owensville, Missouri.
Opal was born in Bernheimer, Missouri on August 14, 1928, the daughter of the late Lawrence & Mildred (Mische) Begemann.
She was united in marriage to Delbert A. Dothage on April 26, 1947, in Marthasville, Missouri. Delbert preceded her in death on November 2, 2003.
Opal attended the Holstein School. She worked at Deaconess Hospital, St. Louis. She then later worked at Langenberg Cap Factory, Berger, for 29 years until her retirement.
Opal was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Pinckney, Missouri. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren as well as quilting, embroidery, and word puzzles. She also enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals.
Opal is survived by three sons, Earl Dothage, of Sullivan, Missouri; David (Lesle) Dothage, of Van Buren, Missouri; and Roger (Sheila) Dothage, of Holts Summit, Missouri; one daughter, Lynette (Darrell) Hiatte, of Holts Summit, Missouri; one sister, Ruth (Leland) Schemmer, of Marthasville, Missouri; by nine grandchildren, Heather (Andy) Richards, Daniel (Misty) Dothage, Kim Dothage (Nick Miller), Aaron Dothage, Lauren Dothage, Adam Dothage, Nicholas (Rebekah) Dothage, Nathan (Denessa Crew) Dothage, and Amy (Jason) Miller, and 15 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Delbert, a grandson, Kyle Dothage, a great-grandson, Alexander Richards, and a great-granddaughter, Kylee Dothage.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 11th from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, where funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Darrel Deeker officiating.
Burial will be at Smith Creek Methodist Cemetery, Marthasville, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be given to Smith Creek Methodist Cemetery. C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
