Mildred Fae Winkelmann, 92, of Hermann, MO, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at StoneBridge Senior Living, Hermann, Missouri.
Fae was born in Rhineland, Missouri on July 5, 1933, the daughter of the late Orval & Helen (Scholten) Metzler.
She was united in marriage to Walter F. Winkelmann on April 25, 1953, at Church of the Risen Savior, in Rhineland, Missouri. Together they shared 52 wonderful years of marriage. Walter preceded her in death on January 30, 2005.
Fae was a member of Church of the Risen Savior, Rhineland. She loved her family deeply, cherished books and spent countless hours crocheting, sewing and quilting.
She is survived by a son, Mark Winkelmann & wife Jill, of Rhineland, Missouri; a daughter, Jeanne Landolt & husband Larry, of Hermann, Missouri; a son, Ward Winkelmann & wife Donna, of St. Charles, Missouri; a daughter, Laurie Fredrick & husband Doug, of Hermann, Missouri; a son, Paul Winkelmann & wife Lynn, of Rhineland, Missouri; a daughter, Maribeth Dann & husband Karl, of Berger, Missouri; a sister, Melba Bokermann, of Kirkwood, Missouri; a brother, Valerian "Mannie" Metzler & wife Vera, of Fenton, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Lavita Metzler, of St. Charles, Missouri, 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Wendell "Metz" & Gerald "Ferd" Metzler, and a sister, Carolyn Metzler, a sister-in-law, Jacqueline Metzler and a brother-in-law Albert Bokermann.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 18th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann.
A funeral mass will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Church of the Risen Savior, Rhineland, with Father Philip Niekamp officiating.
Burial will be at St. Martin's Cemetery, Starkenburg. Memorial donations may be given to Shrine of Our Lady of Sorrow, Starkenburg or St. George School.
