Michael Leroy Elkins, 79, of Lakeside, CA, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2023 at his vacation home in Pershing, Missouri.
Michael was born in St. Louis, Missouri on February 10, 1944, the son of the late George R. & Margaret J. (Heath) Thomson.
Michael proudly served his country in the United States Army, and was stationed in Germany. He was a proud Cold War Veteran.
He was the husband of Cherry Kay (Leimkuehler) Elkins. They were united in marriage on June 18, 1966, at Zion-St. Peter's U.C.C., Pershing, MO.
Michael worked as pipe fitter in commercial construction. He was a jack of all trades, loved inventing things and was very crafty.
Michael is survived by his wife, Cherry Kay Elkins, of Lakeside, California; two sons, Shane Elkins & wife Jennifer and Michael A. Elkins, both of Lakeside, California; a brother, Tommy Thomson & wife Merrily, of Yreka, California; four grandchildren, Aaron, Ashley, Alyssa and William Elkins and by three great grandchildren, Alice, Ozzy and Luciana.
A private celebration of life was held.
