Melvin Worley Obituary

Melvin Francis Worley, 91, of New Florence, MO, passed away Thursday, July 2nd, 2026 at his residence. Melvin was born in New Florence, Missouri on February 21, 1935, a son of the late Margaret Pearle (Moore) and Samuel Francis Worley.

Melvin proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He worked as a diesel mechanic at International Harvestor Diesel Truck, which later became Gateway International.  He worked for the combined companies for over 30 years. After retiring from Gateway International he went to work at Stiegman-Wells Pump Service and Supply and worked there several years.

He was the husband of Dorothy Alene (nee Moseley) Worley.  They were married on May 19, 1956 at St. Peter's Church, St. Charles, MO.

Melvin is survived by his wife Dorothy, by his children, Sam Worley & wife Sarah, of O' Fallon, MO; Cathy Marsch & husband Kevin of Hermann, MO; Jeanie Adams of St. Peter's, MO; Pat Worley & wife Lynn of St. Charles, MO; Veneta Worley of New Florence, MO; and Peter Worley of New Florence, MO; two sisters, Martha Potthaust of Warrenton, MO; and Doris Tuma of Montgomery City, MO.

Melvin is preceded in death by his parents, by three sons, Richard, John and Paul Worley, by his sisters, Winona Deeker, Edna Grotewiel, Dorothy Greishaber, Pauline Hoffman, Mary Arens, and infant twin sisters, Helen & Ellen, by his brothers Kenneth, Homer, Dave, Don & Lee Roy Worley.

Melvin like to stay busy; he always worked hard and was very proud of maintaining his property. He enjoyed fishing and deer hunting, however being with and around his family is what he enjoyed the most.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 8,2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, where funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m.

Graveside Services with military honors will be held immediately following the funeral at St. Martin's Cemetery Starkenburg, Missouri.
