Melvin Albert Bossman

Melvin Albert Bossman, 90, of Hermann, MO, passed away Friday, March 27, 2020 at Frene Valley of Hermann Stonebridge.

Melvin was born in Starkenburg, Missouri on May 15, 1929, a son of the late Paul & Emma (Eikel) Bossman.

He was the widower of Virginia L. "Ginny" (Fischer) Bossman.  They were united in marriage on January 9, 1954, in Hermann, Missouri.  Ginny preceded him in death on March 30, 2017.

Melvin proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.  He was a member of the Hermann V.F.W. Post 4182 of Hermann.   He was a mechanic for L & S Equipment.  After retirement he enjoyed wood working and made a lot of furniture for his family and friends.

Melvin is survived by a son, Dennis Bossman, of Hermann; a daughter, Suzann Frye & husband Randall, of Hermann; a daughter, Kathleen Masur, of Hermann; a son, Steven Bossman, of Indianapolis, Indiana; a daughter, Marsha Bossman, of Hermann; a sister, Arline Stotko, of Bossier City, Louisiana; a sister-in-law, Charleen Bossman, of O'Fallon, Missouri; by six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son-in-law, Tony Masur, two sisters, Mildred Thorton, and Alice Elsenraat, two brothers, Gerald & William Bossman, and brothers-in-law, Cornelius Stotko, Leon Elsenraat, and Harold Thorton.

Services will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be given to Hermann Crusade Against Cancer of Hermann V.F.W.  C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
