Maynard "Andy" H. Anderson

Maynard H. "Andy" Anderson, 90, of Hermann, MO, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2023 at StoneBridge Hermann,  Hermann, Missouri. 

Andy was born in Columbus, Nebraska on July 1, 1932, the son of the late Herbert K. & Maye I. (Peterson) Anderson.

He was the widower of Patricia L. (Church) Anderson. They were united in marriage on June 28, 1953, in Clarks, Nebraska. Patricia preceded him in death on April 16, 2017.

Andy enlisted in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict, serving for four years.  He used his GI bill to attend University of Illinois.  After graduating he went to work as a pilot instructor for a civilian contract school for the Air Force.  He later started his airline career with Ozark Airlines in 1960 and retired from TWA in 1991. 

He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ Hermann, Missouri and the Hermann Lions Club.

Andy is survived by four children, James Lee Anderson & wife Therese, of Northfield, Minnesota; Kathryn Anderson, of Paonia, Colorado; Cyd Erich & husband Mitch, of Arlington Heights, Illinois; and Kristen Anderson, of Columbia, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Peggy Anderson, of Havasu City, Arizona; by a grandson, Michael Anderson & wife Barbara, of Owatonna, Minnesota, great grandchildren, Stevi and Sydney Anderson, of Lakeville, Minnesota and Felicia and Nick Rajaee, of Norfolk, Nebraska and by nieces and nephews.  

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two children, Janice Anderson and Ross Anderson, a great granddaughter, Lacey Anderson and a brother, Richard Anderson.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 1st at 10:30 a.m. at Loutre Island Cemetery, McKittrick, Missouri.  Memorials may be given to St. Paul United Church of Christ.
