Martha Hagedorn Obituary

Martha Clara Hagedorn, 84, of Washington, MO, formerly of Hermann, passed away Thursday, February 18,  2021 at South Pointe Senior Living,  Washington, Missouri. 

Martha was born in Rhineland, Missouri on June 27, 1936, the daughter of the late George Jr. & Olivia (Eldringhoff) Bader.

She was united in marriage to Dale Anthony Hagedorn on October 13, 1956, at St. Joseph Church, Rhineland, Missouri. Dale preceded her in death on January 7, 2005.

Martha worked for the U.S. Postal Service as the Postmaster for the Rhineland Post Office for many years. She was a member of Church of the Risen Savior, Rhineland, Missouri, St. Ann Ladies Sodality, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and Red Hat Society.

Martha enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, playing the piano, playing cards, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.

Martha is survived by a daughter, Geri Howe & husband Greg, of Rhineland, Missouri; two sons, Kevin Hagedorn & wife Linda, of St. Louis, Missouri; and Keith Hagedorn & wife Patty, of Marthasville, Missouri; 
a daughter, Karen Thompson & husband Sid, of Columbia, Missouri; a daughter, Beth Cobb & husband Steve, of Wellsville, Missouri; two brothers, Melvin Bader & wife Shirley, of Canton, Michigan; and Kenneth Bader & wife Fran, of Creve Coeur, Missouri; a sister, Eileen McGowan, of Bourbon, Missouri. by grandchildren, Joe Fredrick & wife Jessica, Samantha Greunke & husband David, Amanda Hagedorn, Kyle Hagedorn & wife Haley, Amber Henderson & husband David, Kyndel Hagedorn & special friend Ethan Stiers, Lindsay Thompson, Kristin Thompson and special friend Clint Sapp, Alex Cobb, Tanner Cobb & fiance Rachel Reimann, and Wesley Cobb, and nine great grandchildren, Jillian & Jordan Fredrick, Dakota & Daxton Greunke, Brady Hagedorn, Adelen & Rowan Henderson, Emma Grant and Bentley Sapp.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, Steve Baczuk, her husband, a grandson, Chad Cobb and a sister, Genevieve Van Booven.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 22nd from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann. 

A funeral mass will be held Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Church of the Risen Savior, Rhineland, Missouri, with Rev. Monsignor Gregory Higley officiating. 

Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Rhineland, Missouri.  Memorials may be given to Hermann Area Crusade Against Cancer.  C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
