Marilyn Rohlfing Obituary

Marilyn A.C. (Keller) Rohlfing, age 87, of Hermann, Missouri, passed away on February 25, 2018 at Provision Living, Columbia, Missouri.

Marilyn was born on December 25, 1930 in Stolpe, Missouri, a daughter of the late Walter & Edna (Feil) Keller.

Marilyn went to Stolpe School from 1st-8th grade.  She then attended Hermann High School where she graduated in 1949.  She moved to St. Louis in the early 50’s and was employed by McDonnell Douglas where she worked in the human resource department until she retired after over 40 years. While she was living in St. Louis she went to Washington University and graduated in 1968 with a Bachelor’s Degree.  In the 1980’s she came home on the weekends to help her mom.  It was at that time that she met Velten E. Rohlfing.  They were united in marriage on September 9, 1989 at St. John’s United Church of Christ, Stolpe.  They were married for over 25 years until Velten passed away on October 18, 2014.

Marilyn had many hobbies which included, gardening, bird watching, sports, dancing, and traveling.  Marilyn was a kind and caring person and was loved by all.

Marilyn is survived by her three step-children, Marilyn Roche, of Columbia, Missouri; Debra Maxwell, of Springfield, Missouri; and Tom Rohlfing, of Overland Park, Kansas, by a sister, Myrdell Lancaster, of Clear Spring, Maryland; by a sister-in-law, Norella Keller, of Washington, Missouri; by eight grandchildren, Johnny Roche, Kelley Bradford, Jackson, Griffin, & Holden Rohlfing and Billy, Chip & David Maxwell and by great grandchildren, Carter, Camille, & Calvin Roche and Addie & Auden Maxwell and by nieces, Lesa Buttry, of St. Clair, Missouri; and Wendy Putz, of Franklin, West Virginia; and by nephews, David Keller, of Evant, Texas; and Ron Gilbert, of Mt. Airy, Maryland.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother Marvin Keller.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 2nd from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Darrel Deeker officiating.

Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery, Stolpe.  Memorials may be given to St. John's United Church of Christ, Stolpe or to St. John's Cemetery.  C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
