Marilyn Viola Purdy, 70, of St. Louis Mo, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025, at her children’s home in Sarasota, Florida.
Born on January 20, 1955, in Plainfield, New Jersey, Marilyn was the daughter of Anthony and Josephine Viola.
After retiring, Marilyn fully embraced the joys of motherhood and being a Nana, spending her days soaking up the Florida sunshine and creating cherished memories with her family and friends. She carried a deep love for family throughout her life, always prioritizing the happiness and well-being of those she loved most. She was a woman of immense faith, kindness, laughter, and unwavering love, touching the lives of everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her children: Tara Diekmann; Jarret Leek; Michele Purdy; and her stepson Michael Purdy. Marilyn was a proud and devoted grandmother to Kaden Diekmann, Kaleb Diekmann, Ashton Purdy, and Macie Purdy. She is also survived by her beloved sister Darlene Viola, her former husband Michael Purdy, and a close-knit circle of cousins and friends who were like family to her.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her father, Anthony Viola; mother, Josephine Viola; and ex-husband, Eric Leek.
Her legacy of love, warmth, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 21st from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
