Marcia (Heberle) Bucker Obituary

Marcia Lynn (Heberle) Bucker, aged 69 of Rhineland, Missouri entered into her heavenly reward at the Hermann Area District Hospital in Hermann, Missouri following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on May 18, 2019.

Marcia is survived by her husband Jerome D. (Jerry) Bucker of Rhineland, her son Scott Heberle from St. Louis, her step-daughters Chelsea Bucker, Cheryl (Bruce) Fleming, Leigh Anne McCullough, Traci (Nick) King-Holmes, and Staci (Hubbard) Buckles, and her step-grandchildren Jordan Nelson, Hannah Fleming, Gabrielle Buckles, Liam and Asher Holmes.

Marcia was born December 12, 1949 at St. Francis Hospital in Washington, Missouri. She was the daughter of Harry J. and Leora C. Heberle of Hermann who pre-deceased her. She was married to Jerry Bucker on August 25, 2001. Marcia is also survived by her sister and brothers Sharon and David Heberle, both of Hermann, and Bruce Heberle of Destin, Florida. Her sister Julie pre-deceased her on August 26, 2001. In addition, Marcia is survived by her sisters-in-law Marilyn Humm, Ramona Breunig, and Ruthann Heberle. She was cherished and will be greatly missed by her many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

Marcia spent her working career in HR with various companies in Missouri. She started her career at Kellwood in New Haven; she later moved to St. Louis and worked in the banking industry. Marcia continued in HR, in the health care field, working in both the St. Louis and Springfield, Missouri areas. Marcia finished her career working for the city of Hermann. She was a loyal and trusted employee and made many life-long friends wherever she worked and lived.

Marcia was passionate about her faith. She was very involved in her local church. After high school and college, Marcia volunteered at St. George as a volleyball coach. She could always be counted on to help at any church event. Marcia was very involved with the Catholic churches in Rhineland and Starkenburg. She was recently honored to be appointed by the bishop, as a HR representative, for a special task group for the diocese of Jefferson City.

Marcia was an avid Notre Dame fan, and she enjoyed visiting campus, praying at the grotto, and attending mass at the Basilica. Marcia cherished a picture of her praying at the grotto where an "orb," in the shape of an angel, is sitting on her shoulder. She enjoyed family, was always willing to share a hearty laugh, and was fond of re-telling funny life events.

The family would like to thank Monsignor Gregory Higley, Deacons Joe Horton and Gerald Korman for their prayers, blessings and absolutions. She would also like to thank her friends from St. George, The Church of the Risen Savior and St. Paul’s UCC for all they have done during this illness. She felt truly blessed to have them in her life. The family would like to thank the staff at the Hermann Hospital for their outstanding care and compassion.

Marcia will lie in state at the Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home Hermann, Missouri from 3:00-7:45 PM on Thursday May 23, 2019. A Rosary will be said at: 7:45 PM on Thursday May 23, 2019 at the funeral home.
