Lorene D. (Meyer) Eggert

Lorene D. Eggert, 95, of New Haven, MO, formerly of Berger, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Mercy Hospital, Washington, Missouri. 

Lorene was born in Berger, Missouri on October 20, 1927, the daughter of the late Oscar W. & Katherine E. (Albeitz) Meyer.

She was the widow of Alfred F. Eggert.  They were united in marriage on October 5, 1946, at St. John's United Church of Christ, Berger, Missouri.  Alfred preceded her in death on October 19, 2010.

Lorene was a long time member of the St. John's United Church of Christ in Berger until the church closed.  She later became a member of  St. Peter's United Church of Christ in New Haven. She was also an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 168 in Berger and the Berger Fire Department Auxiliary.  

She worked for many years at Langenburg Cap Factory in Berger. After retirement she worked part time in the housekeeping department at Hermann Area District Hospital.  She and Alfred also cleaned for Hermann Ford.

Lorene is survived by her daughter, Janeial Gerdes & husband Roy, of New Haven, Missouri; two grandchildren, Craig Hemeyer & wife Kris, of Berger, Missouri; and Julie Schowe & husband Brent, of Ballwin, Missouri; four great-grandchildren, Carter & Kampbell Hemeyer and Katie & Nicholas Schowe.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alfred and a sister, Lucille Rose Meyer.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 26th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Haven, with Rev. Dr. Dan Smith officiating. 

Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery, Berger, Missouri.  Memorials may be given to St. John's Cemetery, Berger.
