Leo Meyer Obituary

Leo J. Meyer, 83, of New Haven, MO, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Mercy Hospital, Washington, Missouri. 
 
Leo was born on the farm in New Haven, Missouri on November 13, 1936, the son of the late Andreas J. & Clara H. (Frankenberg) Meyer.
 
He was united in marriage to Mary Ann (Lenze) Meyer on November 6, 1971, at Assumption Church, New Haven, Missouri.  Mary Ann preceded him in death on January 20, 2001.
 
Leo proudly served his country in the United States Marines, where he served in Okinawa for two years.  Leo was a member of Assumption Church New Haven, Missouri, and the Knights of Columbus in Washington.
 
Leo was a farmer, and he enjoyed working along side his brothers and nephews as they were taking care of the livestock or tending to the crops.  He also enjoyed spending time with his family.
 
Leo is survived by a sister, Catherine Schlatt, of Shelbina, Missouri; a brother, Anthony Meyer, of New Haven, Missouri; a brother, Bernard Meyer & wife Linda, of New Haven, Missouri; a sister, Barbara Noelke & husband Gene, of Washington, Missouri; a sister, Ruth Spaunhorst & husband Jerome, of Washington, Missouri; a brother, John Meyer & wife Brenda, of Washington, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Bernice Smith, of New Haven, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Jamie Lenze, of St Louis; a special friend, Alice Streck, of Hermann, Missouri; and by many nieces & nephews.  
 
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary Ann, an infant sister Marie Alvina Meyer, a sister, Dorothy C. Meyer, a nephew, Daniel Meyer, and two brothers-in-law, Leo Schlatt and Robert Lenze.
 
A private visitation and funeral mass will be held.  Burial will be at Assumption Cemetery, New Haven, Missouri. 
 
Memorials may be given to Assumption Cemetery or New Haven Care Center Activity Fund.  C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
