Leanne Christy Williams, 61, of Hermann, MO passed away Wednesday August 11, 2021 at her home.
She was born in Washington, MO on December 16, 1959 to Donald O. (Don) and Anna Marie (Amy) (Peters) Williams, both deceased.
Leanne worked in various areas of accounting for Boone Hospital Systems in Columbia, MO for over 41 years.
Leanne is survived by a sister, Vicki Huff and husband Steve of Saint Joseph, MO; niece Belinda Huff (Mike) and her daughters Lily and Cora; nephew Brian (Alma) Huff and their daughter Nala; cousins and their families, Pam White, Suzanne Love, Terry Williams, Micki Hartin.
The number of people Leanne considered family was huge. She had so many passions: animal rescue and caretaking (love for wildlife and all critters), auto racing, car shows, travel, photography, genealogy. The people involved with her in each of these were family to her. Leanne lived by the belief that the journey of life is “more about who you travel with and the stops along the way than it is about the final destination .” She left a request for inclusion of these words in her obituary: “incredibly blessed with friends—most important thing in my life. Love critters, (except snakes). NASCAR FREAK. Tons of fun—love to laugh. Love outdoors. Enjoy travel. Always wanted a hot-rod Chevy truck (50ish, 5 window) (love that blower).”
Leanne was fiercely independent. Her humor, wit, sarcasm were outmatched only by her compassion, kindness, ability to love. With her adventurous nature she attacked life and then embraced it. To quote a friend from her youth “She was a sweet soul who touched countless lives in a beautiful and loving way….”
Visitation will be held Saturday, April 22nd from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Hermann, where a memorial service will follow at 11:00 am. Memorials may be given to Columbia Second Chance or Saint Paul United Church of Christ c/o Toedtmann and Grosse Funeral Home.
