Obituary

Kathryn L. Shoemaker, 81, of Hermann, MO, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2023 at StoneBridge Hermann,  County, Missouri. 

Kathryn was born in Boonville, Missouri on August 13, 1941, the daughter of the late Seth & Erla (Muntzel) Slocum.

She was united in marriage to Noel E. Shoemaker on July 2, 1960, at Freedom, Missouri.  Noel preceded her in death on February 15, 2022.

Kathryn worked for Kellwood for 27 years, then Creech Brothers Trucking in Troy, Mo.  She later bought and owned Silver Dollar Restaurant in Swiss for 9 years. 

Kathryn is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Purdy & husband Arthur, of Stony Hill, Missouri; two sons, Jeffery Shoemaker & wife Cheryl, of New Port Rickey, Florida; and Jerry Shoemaker & wife Sherry, of Gerald, Missouri; by seven grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
 
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, Seth, Harry & Larry Slocum, and two sisters, Florence McCormack and Marcia Conley.

A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, March 21st at 11:00 a.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann.  Memorials may be given to Hermann Area Crusade Against Cancer or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
