Karen Sue Barbarick, 74, of New Haven, MO, passed away Sunday, October 17, 2021 at New Haven Care Center, New Haven.
Karen was born in Washington, Missouri on August 10, 1947, the daughter of the late Floyd & Iva Bacon.
She was the widow of Wilbur C. Barbarick. They were united in marriage on February 27, 1976, in Pacific, Missouri. Wilbur preceded her in death on June 30, 2003.
Karen was a homemaker for many years. She later went to work at Cedar Creek Event Center, where she was a cook in the kitchen.
She was a former member of the Assembly of God Church in Pacific, until it closed. She then attended church at Friendship Baptist Church, New Haven.
Karen enjoyed cooking, going to church, playing music, and she was a big collector of figurines and Tupperware. Her biggest enjoyment more than anything though was her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Karen is survived by two daughters, Terri Bell & husband Steve, of New Haven, Missouri; and Tammi Elbert & husband Daryl, of Washington, Missouri; a sister, Doris McGlenn, of Illinois; a brother, Robert Bacon & wife Sharon, of Washington, Missouri; a brother, Bill Bacon, of New Haven, Missouri; a sister, Cathy Tash, of Washington, Missouri; a brother, Roy Bacon, of Grey Summit, Missouri, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and by many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd & Eva Bacon, by her husband, Wilbur Barbarick, a son, Carl W. Barbarick, three sisters, Dorothy Strubberg, Erma Bacon and Shirley Pierce and a grandson, Joseph Barbarick.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 20th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven, where funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m., with Pastor Steve Sullivan officiating.
Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis. Memorials may be given to New Haven Care Center Activities Fund or Friendship Baptist Church. C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
