Julia Joy Pruessner, 69, of Berger, MO, passed away Monday, March 7, 2022 at Mercy Hospital, Washington, Missouri.
Joy was born in Washington, Missouri on February 24, 1953, the daughter of the late Bert & Dorothy (Jenkins) Hassler.
Joy was a member of Memorial Baptist Church, New Haven, Missouri, where she was very involved in the church and church activities.
She was known to many in the community as Miss Joy. She was a teacher and director of Wee Haven Daycare. She was also a Parent as Teacher Educator for the New Haven and Hermann School Districts. In her free time she enjoyed basket making, playing scrabble and spending time with her grandchildren and girls.
Joy is survived by two daughters, Shelley Stutzman & husband Chip, of New Haven, Missouri; and Tammy Schutt & husband Matt, of Berger, Missouri; by three granddaughters, Taylor, Ryan and Lizzy and four grandsons, Charlie, Wil, Henry and Chase; by two brothers, Carry Hassler & wife Sandi, of New Haven, Missouri; and Dave Hassler, of Lawrence, Kansas; a sister, Mamie Irvin, of Georgia and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 12th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Memorial Baptist Church, New Haven, where funeral services will follow at 4:00 p.m., with Rev. Joe Nogalski officiating.
Burial will be at New Haven Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Missouri Kidney Foundation or Memorial Baptist Church (Vacation Bible School). C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
