Joseph B. Baumstark, age 80, of Hermann, MO, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021 at his home after a short courageous fight with cancer.
Joseph was born in Hermann, Missouri on December 20, 1940, the son of Clarence & Louise (Kuhlmann) Baumstark.
He was united in marriage to Judith K. Rybolt on October 12, 1963, in St. Louis County. Judy preceded him in death on January 28, 2018.
Joseph was a member of St. George Church, Hermann, where he was a member of the church choir for many years and also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was self-employed with his own carpentry and wood working business.
Joseph is survived by a daughter, Lisa Schulte, of Hermann, Missouri; a son, Chris Baumstark, of Hermann, Missouri; a daughter, Lori Baumstark & companion Jeremy Melsha, of St. Louis, Missouri; a sister, Eleanor Lloyd, of Holden, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Pat Rybolt, of Hallsville, Missouri; by three grandsons, Travis Schulte & wife Jennifer, of Hermann, Missouri; Brett Schulte & wife Katelyn, of Hermann, Missouri; and Ian Baumstark, of New York; a granddaughter, Hattie Baumstark, of Owensville, and four great grandchildren, Nolan, Maggie, Walter and Harrison Schulte.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son-in-law, David Schulte and three sisters, Mary Ann Stuttmann, Clarine Means and Charmaine Klott.
Joseph was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, cutting wood, doing wood working and socializing with friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 29th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. George Church, Hermann, where a funeral mass will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Msgr. Gregory Higley officiating.
Burial will be at St. George Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Hermann Area Crusade Against Cancer/ C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
