Joseph O. Abbott

Joseph O. Abbott, 77, of New Florence, MO, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2023 in Montgomery City,  Missouri. 

Joseph was born in St. Louis, Missouri on July 1, 1946, the son of the late Willis & Ruth (Edwards) Abbott.

Joseph was a heavy equipment operator in commercial construction.  He spent 15 years in Alaska building the Alcan Highway.  He was a member of the 513 Local Operators. 

Joseph is survived by three sons, Joe Abbott, of New Florence, Missouri; Charles Abbott, of Montgomery City, Missouri; and Chauncy Abbott, of Montgomery City, Missouri; three grandchildren, Cayden, Miles and Kenzie; a brother, Jay Abbott, of Montgomery City, Missouri; and a sister, Kay McDonald & husband Dennis, of Payson, Illinois, and his ex-wife and caretaker Linda Abbott.  He is preceded in death by his parents and his infant twin sons, Jason and Joshua.
