John "Butch" L. Goodwin

John "Butch" Goodwin, 63, of Berger, MO, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2026 at Mercy Hospital, Washington, Missouri.
 
John was born in St. Louis, Missouri on February 16, 1963.
 
He was the husband of Patricia (Prior) Goodwin.   They were united in marriage on October 19, 2007 in Hermann, Missouri.
 
John was a carpenter for many years.  After retiring from carpentry, he helped in the Union School District as a school bus monitor,    He found great joy helping early childhood children and making a difference in their lives. He loved riding his Harley, hunting, fishing, and relaxing by the pool with friends and family.  He loved talking and laughing and sharing stories playing darts and cornhole in his bar.  He will be remembered as someone who knew no strangers. 
 
He was a member of the Hermann Eagles and the Hermann V.F.W. Auxiliary.
 
John is survived by his wife Patricia Goodwin, of Berger; daughters, Johnna Anderson, and Megan Goodwin, of Union, Missouri; a son, Dylan Goodwin & wife Nikki, of New Haven, Missouri; a daughter, Deanna Goodwin, of New Haven, Missouri; two step sons, Kraig & Tony Moore, both of Hermann, Missouri; a step daughter, Sarah Cates & husband Tyler, of Washington, Missouri; Grandchildren Johnathan, Jackson, JR, Elijah, Langston, Maelynn, Tae, Koriyuan, Jax, and Knox, one step grandchild, Adelle, and two grandchildren on the way.  He is also survived by 6 siblings.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Clark, brother John Lloyd Goodwin and his Aunt Mary and Uncle Jim.
 
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.  Memorial donations may be given to Hermann Area Crusade Against Cancer.
