John L. Schramm, a beloved father, passed away peacefully at his home in Gasconade, Missouri. He leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and service. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, John dedicated his life to serving his country, community, and his family both through military service and as a police officer in O’Fallon, Missouri.
John proudly served in the United States Navy in the South Pacific from 1960 to 1964 on the USS Oklahoma City, continuing his Naval service through 1966. He later served from 1976 to 1986 in the Missouri Army National Guard.
John work for nearly three decades at General Motors and then spent his retirement years providing his services to the City of Gasconade Water Department and serving as an Alderman.
John is preceded in death by his parents John Leslie and Irma Henrietta, and his sister Judith Ann. John is survived by his children, Mary Jane, Christine Marie, James Michael, Sandra Lynn, Cheryl Ann, and Sarah Jean, and grandchildren - Nicholas, Christopher, Adam, Lance, Amanda, Audriana, Jonathan, Isabella, Christian, Cameron, Malaya, Emma, Konnor, Tori, and Samuel. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
John’s commitment to duty, love for family, and unwavering spirit will forever be remembered. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, July 13th at 10:00 a.m. at Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church, 2233 Boy Scout Road, Hermann, MO 65041.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Shriners Hospital for Children, 4400 Clayton Ave, St. Louis, MO 63110 would be welcomed.
