John Kohrs Obituary

John A. Kohrs, 85, of Hermann, MO, passed away Friday, May 29, 2020 at his home.

John was born in Catskill, New York on June 19, 1934, a son of the late William & Mary (Johnson) Kohrs.

He was the husband of Helen K. (Hartschuh) Kohrs. They were united in marriage on October 9, 1954, in New Jersey.

John served his country in the United States Air Force. He worked as a mechanic then as a supervisor for several airlines, including Pan Am in Florida.

John was a member of the German Club in Florida and was a member of the Lutheran Church. In his free time he enjoyed ball room dancing.

John is survived by his wife Helen Kohrs, of the home; a son, Robert Kohrs & wife Jayne, of Excello, Missouri; a daughter-in-law, Marcy Kohrs, of Oviedo, Florida, by seven grandchildren, Sam Kohrs, Michael Kohrs, Susie Brown, Lisa Cullen, John David Kohrs, Matt Kohrs, and Fred Kohrs, and by 10 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, and a son, John Allen Kohrs.

Private family services will be held. Burial will be at Oak Haven Memorial Gardens, Hermann. Memorials may be given to American Cancer Society. C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
