Joanie Ann Manley, 85, of Troy, MO, formerly of Hermann, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at SSM St. Joseph Hospital West, Lake St. Louis, Missouri.
Joanie was born in St. Louis, Missouri on August 17, 1939, the daughter of the late James Hutchinson & Margaret (Fleming) Hardy.
She was the wife of Richard "Buzz" Manley. They were united in marriage on January 10, 1987, in St. Charles, Missouri. They shared 38 years of marriage together.
Joanie worked as a bar maid for many years at several bars in the St. Charles and St. Louis area. After moving to Hermann, she went to work for Battocletti's Bake Shoppe, where she worked for 12 years.
Joanie was a proud Democrat and enjoyed working the voting polls. She enjoyed having a good time, whether that was with family or friends. She loved spending quality time with her family, and she loved her job. She also enjoyed listening to country music. Joanie took a lot of pride in her appearance and was always dressed perfectly, with everything matched from her jewelry to her shoes.
Joanie is survived by her husband, Buzz Manley, of Troy, Missouri; two daughters, Sherry Dickherber & husband Mark, of Troy, Missouri; Jamie Dowell, of St. Peters, Missouri; a son, Richard "Buzzy" M. Manley II, of O'Fallon, Missouri; a stepdaughter, Carla Faye Dowell & husband Bill, of Iowa Colony, Texas; a brother, Thomas Hardy & wife Elizabeth, of Ellisville, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Nellie Hardy, of Harrison, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Nathan (Sabrina), Ashley, Patrick, Rachael (Rob), Heather, Treasure, and Katie, 13 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, nieces & nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Carl Phillips, her second husband, Glenn Williams, a stepdaughter, Jeannie Phillips and a brother, Bobby Hardy.
A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, July 1st from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, where a Remembrance will follow at 3:00 p.m.
Memorials may be given to Hermann Area Crusade Against Cancer.
