Joan B. Meyer, 87, of New Haven, MO, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at New Haven Care Center, New Haven, Missouri.
Joan was born in Washington, Missouri on February 7, 1936, the daughter of the late Joseph & Rita (Hoerstkamp) Kluesner.
On June 27, 1953, she was united in marriage to Kenneth G. "Kenny" Meyer. They were married at Assumption Church, New Haven, Missouri.
During her working years she worked for Langenberg Hat Factory, Kellwood Corporation and later American Recreation Company in New Haven.
She was a member of Assumption Church, New Haven, and the Ladies Sodality. In her free time Joan enjoyed ironing, sewing and quilting, babysitting, reading and doing puzzles.
Joan is survived by four daughters, Lucy Zablow, Columbia, Missouri; Carol Pruessner and husband Jim, New Haven, Missouri; Myra Hanks and husband Larry, New Haven, Missouri; and Paula Colter, of New Haven, Missouri; by two sons, Eric Meyer and wife Christine, New Haven, Missouri; and Mark Meyer and wife Sharon, of Hermann, Missouri; by two sisters-in-law, Geneva Wright, Union, Missouri; and LaVerne Schweerkotting, Hermann, Missouri; a brother-in-law Ray Piontek, Florissant, Missouri; by 13 grandchildren, Jamelle Moloney, Melissa Malcolm, Sarah Niedenthal, Jenny Lowe, Jessica Hasty, Jim-Bob Pruessner, Patrick Meyer, Crystal Payne, Julain Pock, Wesley Hanks, Ryan Colter, Robyn Holdmeyer and Rustin Colter and by 31 great grandchildren
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons-in-law, Jim Zablow and Rich Colter, a brother, Leonard Kluesner, a sister, Delores “Sis” Piontek, and three brothers-in-law, Floyd, Melvin "Butch" and John Meyer Jr. and sisters-in-law, Jean Kluesner, Ginny Piontek and Ruth Meyer
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 23rd from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven.
Funeral mass will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Assumption Church, New Haven, with Father John Deken officiating.
Burial will be at Assumption Cemetery, New Haven. Memorials may be given to New Haven Senior Center or New Haven Care Center.
