Jane Marie Burt, 77, of Hermann, MO, passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at University of Missouri Medical Center, Columbia, Missouri.
Jane was born in Bridgeton, Missouri on September 24, 1943, the daughter of the late Anthony & Wilma (Henke) Haarmann.
Jane was the wife of Gregory Burt. They were united in marriage on February 17, 1962, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, New Melle, MO.
Jane was a member of St. George Church, Hermann, Missouri, where she was also a member of the Ladies Sodality and Quilting Group.
Jane worked at Acme Garment Factory in Wentzville for many years as a seamstress. She also worked for Handi-Pac then Blanke Plastics. After Blanke she then went to work at Bailey Corp. in Berger, which later became Gen-Corp, then Henniges Corp in New Haven, where she worked until her retirement.
In her free time Jane enjoyed doing crafts, sewing, crocheting, growing vegetable and flower gardens, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
Jane is survived by her husband, Gregory Burt, of the home; a son, Bernie Burt & wife Leia, of Warrenton, Missouri; a daughter, Patricia Burt & special friend Larry Fries, Jr., of Bland, Missouri; a son, Chris Burt, of Swiss, Missouri; a daughter, Marie Martin & husband Todd, of Union, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Tyler, Erin, Justin, Rachel, Sophia, Emily and Josh, by five great grandchildren, Loretta, Katherine, Laura, Audrey and Tatum, by her sisters, Joan, Janice, Joyce, Gloria, Karen and Darlene and her brothers, Gordon, Gerald, Alan, Louie and Jerome, and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Angela, a brother Gerard and a sister Alice.
Visitation will be held Sunday, May 23rd from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, Missouri.
A funeral mass will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. George Church, Hermann, with Rev. Msgr. Gregory Higley officiating.
Burial will be at St. George Cemetery, Hermann, Missouri. Memorials may be given to St. George Church or St. George Cemetery. C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
