Jana Sue Gray (nee Rohlfing), age 68, of the Brazito and Henley, Missouri area, went to heaven September 15, 2024, in Jefferson City, Missouri, after a lengthy illness.
Her Earthly life began in Washington, Missouri on August 9, 1956, a daughter of Harold W. and Margy (nee Shelton) Rohlfing. On September 11, 1993, she and Michael Edward Gray married in Jefferson City, Missouri.
She lived on her parents' farm and private airstrip just north of Berger, Missouri. Shortly after her Dad passed away in an airplane crash in Honduras, the family moved to Owensville, Missouri. After High School, she attended clerical school and obtained employment, eventually as an Executive Assistant, with the state's Bureau of Vital Records, remaining there until retirement.
Of the Christian faith, she adored and fawned over her family and many pets ("babies"). She was known as "Mom" to many of Stephen's friends. She was an excellent cook and adept at many crafts and home decorating, especially for holidays. Putting together puzzles, watching TV (especially comedies and movies), and reading were other favorite pastimes.
Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by her son, Stephen Rohlfing, three sisters and brothers-in-laws, four grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren with one more great-grandson she just learned that is due in February 2025, one step-great-granddaughter, and a former daughter-in-law also survives.
She is preceded in death by her father, grandparents, uncles, and aunts, and a stillborn grandson.
She did not wish for a service. Private internment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Berger, Missouri. Memorials may be given to St. John's Cemetery.
