Jim, had many jobs in his lifetime. He was in business with his uncle, Herbert Pecaut, hauling rock and moving dirt. Also worked for Ste Genevie Lime Mill. In 1953 he joined his father, Frank, at MFA in New Haven. This job change involved moving his family from Perryville, MO to New Haven, MO. In September 1957, he joined Scheer Transfer Company and was employed there until the day Milford and Marvin locked the doors. Jim’s route included factories and stores in Hermann, MO. Many friends were made during his truck driving years and many stories created. He enjoyed revisiting those during his stay at StoneBridge.
Jim loved a good game of horseshoes and had pits in the backyard on Bates Street, days he and Edna spent at Lost Valley, shooting matches bringing home the meat. He never missed a chance to go to the gambling boat and usually came home a winner. He also loved his hand-held poker games. If there was a Bingo game, he was there. Jim loved clipping newspaper articles and obituaries of family and friends. They were very neatly put into binders. It makes for a very interesting read.
