James Arthur Borcherding, 89, of Hermann, MO, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025 at New Haven Care Center, New Haven, Missouri.
James was born in New Haven, Missouri on March 9, 1936, the son of the late Arthur & Viola (Monje) Borcherding.
He was the husband of Barbara (Bell) Borcherding. They were united in marriage on December 7, 1985, in St. Louis, Missouri.
James was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Haven. He was a computer analyst for Kellwood Company and then Brown Shoe Company for 20 years. After working for Brown Shoe Company he worked for United Van Lines, until his retirement at the age of 70.
James is survived by his wife, Barbara Borcherding, of Hermann; a son, Eric Borcherding & wife Jessie, of Denver, Colorado; a daughter, Shannon Sandefer & husband Pete, of New Haven, Missouri; three sisters, Beulah Helling, of Mexico, Missouri; Mutzie Hiatte, of St. Charles, Missouri; and Ruthie Bredemeyer, of Hermann, Missouri; three brothers, Sonny Borcherding, of New Haven, Missouri; Lloyd Borcherding & wife Dorothy, of New Haven, Missouri; and Howard Borcherding & wife Sandy, of New Haven, Missouri; and three grandchildren, Evelyn Sandefer and Graham & Garrett Borcherding.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 14th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven, where a memorial service will follow at 7:00 p.m.
Memorials may be given to St. Peter's United Church of Christ.
