Irene O. (Hahne) Zumsteg

Irene O. Zumsteg, 85, of New Haven, MO, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at New Haven Care Center.

Irene was born in Washington, Missouri on July 2, 1940, the daughter of the late Vernon E. Hahne & Sylvia O. (Kirklin) Thompson.

Irene was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, New Haven and the New Haven American Legion Auxiliary.

Irene worked in the restaurant business her whole life.  She was the owner of Irene's Cafe in New Haven for 25 years, from 1974 to 1999. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family & friends.  She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed going to their spring training games.

She is survived by a daughter, Pam Ruediger & husband Rick, of New Haven, Missouri; three sons, Gregory Zumsteg, of New Florence, Missouri; Randal Zumsteg, of Leslie, Missouri; and Bryan Zumsteg & wife Michele, of Washington, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Kristine, Anthony, Russell, & Wisdom Zumsteg, Samantha Wissmann, Timothy Zumsteg and Kyle & Kate Ruediger; and 12 great grandchildren, Patricia, Andrew, Emerson, Delaney, Lyndon, Zoe, Apollo, Cayden, Jaxson, August, Colson & Collins.  

She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Lee Roy & Carl Hahne and a daughter-in-law, Deborah Zumsteg.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 5th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven, where funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m.

Burial will be private at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Washington, Missouri. Memorials may be given to  Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Bethlehem Lutheran Church or New Haven Care Center Activity Fund.
